Bodino represents the sixth investment of the fund 21 Investimenti III, reaching about 60% of total commitments.
Founded in 1932 and based in Turin, Bodino is an international EPC general contractor, focused on high-end projects, with in-house manufacturing capabilities.
The company is specialized in the engineering, management and construction of architectural finishings, fit-outs, special structures, expo pavilions, museums and, due to the recent acquisitions of Stratex and Tosoni, timber structures and façades.
Thanks to its recognized know-how and its engineering and design capabilities, Bodino collaborates with some of the most important starchitects around the world as a proud ambassador of the “Made-in-Italy” brand. In 2017, the company registered sales of €M33, of which about 70% generated abroad, and 2018 sales are expected to double.
Mr. Giuseppe Scigliano, the entrepreneur who today manages the company alongside CEO Mr. Marco Felici, was looking for a partner able to help him accelerate the company’s growth and international visibility. In this context, thanks to its reputation and experience in developing family businesses, 21 Investimenti stood out as the ideal partner for such an ambitious project.
21 Investimenti acquired a 69.5% stake, with Giuseppe Scigliano retaining a 30.0% stake and the CEO acquiring a 0.5% stake. 21 Investimenti will strive to accelerate the company’s growth, supporting the management team, according to the following drivers:
• Organic growth: reinforce relationships with large general contractors and developers, while also exploiting the success of the Milan Expo and Baselworld in order to reinforce its leadership in the museum & exhibition market, with a focus on the 2020 Dubai Expo
• International expansion: enlarge Bodino’s international footprint, leveraging on its unique value proposition and track record by focusing on geographies offering interesting growth opportunities, such as the Middle East, Russia and Central Europe. 21 Investimenti will also work towards reinforcing the company’s management, with a particular focus on sales and procurement departments
Alessandro Benetton, Founding Managing Partner of 21 Investimenti, commented: “ We are proud to support Bodino in this new exciting phase of development in international markets. Bodino enjoys a strong heritage and represents an excellence in its reference market and a symbol of Made-in-Italy in the world, thus having all the key ingredients to carry out an ambitious growth project. ”
